Our ESSENTIAL knitted sweater is made of polycotton (50% organic cotton, 50% recycled polyester). The combination between these gets the best from the two. A polycotton sweater is more sustainable than a 100% cotton one. It stays in shape, it doesn’t tear and doesn’t crease easily. The winning trio!
Muscled comforter
A pull-over that itches during a nature trip, that’s unpleasant, right? The ESSENTIAL pull-over isn’t itchy. Cotton gives it a soft side and polyester robustness.
Our sweater is knitted in 1x1 rib (in 5 gauge if you like technical details, which gives a thick knit to keep you warm).
Nice collar
We decided on a collar also knitted in 1x1 rib but tighter. It is 2.5cm large, which gives it a good hold and a strong style. It rises well on the neck to avoid being dishevelled. And don't worry, it won't become out of shape over time.
A navy blue herringbone trim strip has been added to reinforce the inside of the collar.
The right fit
The fit? Fitted just right. The ESSENTIAL sweater is worn tight but not excessively so. It’s a modern and timeless cut.
The sleeves are built on the raglan model, which means that the sleeves go up to the collar thanks to diagonal seams. The sweater is more comfortable and easier to put on.
It was assembled by the technique of "fully-fashioned". The pieces are knitted separately and joined together with a thinner seam. This gives you a well-fitted and comfortable sweater.
Basic & simple
In terms of style, we’ve opted for simplicity. You can choose between two plain colours (Tobacco, Black and Navy Blue). You can match it with our BEANIE knit cap. Simple and robust clothes that go with everything.
Good for the planet
After we launched ourfirst recycled collection KENAÏ, we wanted to pursue our sustainable approach. For this jumper, no less than 12 plastic bottles were recycled to make the polyester.
It is also made from organic cotton, which is more ecological than conventional cotton. It is cultivated without pesticides and GMOs to avoid damaging the ecosystems and soils. And it uses less water!
The "fully-fashioned" technique avoids waste of material. Just great, right?
Wash it (but not too much)
The ESSENTIAL pull-over can be washed at 40°C but we rather recommend to do it at 30°C. It’s more ecological and it will have less risk to shrink. It would be a shame not to fit into your favourite jumper (but if you overindulge in Raclette, there's nothing we can do about it...). You can wash it with the rest of your clothes. No need to wash it on a delicate programme.
We don’t recommend using a tumble dryer. Instead, dry it naturally on a flat surface to avoid stretching the knitted fabric.
Reduce
Guaranteed as sturdy as an oak. Our products have been designed to last as many years as possible.
Reuse / Recycle
Our products are shipped in a reusable recycled PET pouch along with a FSC certified kraft packaging.
Redistribute
We donate 1% of our turnover to the organisation 1% for the Planet. Thanks to this, we can give 1% of our turnover to the association Wings of the Ocean.
