HOW TO USE THE WARRANTY?
For purchases made on our website www.alaskanmaker.fr
Before returning a product, please send us photos of the item and your order number for an initial visual review. These details should be sent to our customer service team here.
With this information, our team will carry out a first assessment and let you know whether the observed damage falls under the warranty.
Depending on the outcome of this review, we will either authorize the return of the product or not, and ask you to complete a product return form. Once the product is received, we will perform a detailed inspection to verify whether the warranty conditions are met.
Shipping costs for returns that were not previously authorized by Alaskan MAKER are at your expense. If the return has been authorized in advance by Alaskan MAKER, the return shipping costs will be covered by Alaskan MAKER.
For purchases made from a reseller
Please contact the reseller where you purchased the product, with your proof of purchase and the product itself, to request an exchange or a refund (the reseller may choose to offer exchanges only or refunds only). Our customer service team does not handle purchases made through resellers.
LEGAL WARRANTIES
In accordance with Directive 99/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 May 1999 on certain aspects of the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees, the Buyer has statutory rights, such as the legal guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects. These rights are not affected by this commercial warranty.
In particular, under French law, the seller remains bound by the legal guarantee of conformity referred to in Articles L.217-4 to L.217-12 of the French Consumer Code, and by the guarantee relating to defects in the goods sold, under the conditions provided for in Articles 1641 to 1648 and 2232 of the French Civil Code, excerpts of which are reproduced below.
Article L217-4 of the French Consumer Code
“The seller delivers goods that conform to the contract and is liable for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery.
The seller is also liable for any lack of conformity resulting from the packaging, the assembly instructions, or the installation when the latter was made the seller’s responsibility under the contract or was carried out under the seller’s responsibility.”
Article L217-5 of the French Consumer Code
“The goods conform to the contract:
1° If they are suitable for the purpose usually expected of similar goods and, where applicable:
if they correspond to the description given by the seller and possess the qualities that the seller presented to the buyer in the form of a sample or model;
if they possess the qualities that a buyer may legitimately expect in view of public statements made by the seller, the producer, or their representative, particularly in advertising or labeling;
2° Or if they present the characteristics defined by mutual agreement between the parties or are suitable for any specific use sought by the buyer, brought to the seller’s attention and accepted by the seller.”
Article L217-12 of the French Consumer Code
“The action resulting from a lack of conformity is limited to two years from the delivery of the goods.”
Article L217-16 of the French Consumer Code
“When the buyer asks the seller, during the period of the commercial warranty granted at the time of purchase or repair of movable goods, for a repair covered by the warranty, any period during which the product is unusable for at least seven days shall be added to the remaining duration of the warranty.
This period runs from the buyer’s request for intervention or from the date the product is made available for repair, if this occurs after the request.”
Article 1641 of the French Civil Code
“The seller is bound by the warranty for hidden defects in the goods sold which render them unfit for their intended use, or which so impair that use that the buyer would not have purchased them, or would have paid a lower price, if they had known about them.”
Article 1648 paragraph 1 of the French Civil Code
“The action resulting from hidden defects must be brought by the buyer within two years from the discovery of the defect.”
